Course Description:

Building on ‘Soul realignment: Finding your purpose’, throughout the course, learners attempt to build their soul’s purpose into a business through a variety of entrepreneurship modalities. They learn to take a customer-centric approach through the design thinking modality. They learn to a grow a business using the business model canvas. They learn about the dark side of entrepreneurship, which manifests in work-life stressors, burnout, and failure. To circumvent this, they learn the importance of maintaining a healthy mind-body connection. At the completion of the course, learners are given a 20-minute business intuitive reading by the professor. A certificate of completion is awarded at the end of the course.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of the course, learners should be able to:

1. Build their soul’s purpose.
2. Apply the design thinking method.
3. Apply the business model canvas.
4. Understand the lean start-up methodology.
5. Understand the dark side of entrepreneurship.
6. Understand some of the causes of entrepreneurial failure.
7. Understand the benefits of maintaining a healthy mind-body connection.

Teaching methods:

This is an online, synchronous course. Learners meet with the professor every week, for five weeks. Each class is 1.5 hours. During each class, the professor will provide knowledge of the various entrepreneurship modalities. These modalities will be applied to the passion and/or purpose of the learner. To this end, participants will be learning from lecture content and case studies through their own individual business ideas. The Socratic approach will be used frequently, which involves the professor asking questions to solidify the content. In general, the course will be conducted in a highly interactive manner. Active participation in class discussions is highly recommended. One of the intentions of the course is to learn in community and build community.
